Industrial farming is not as common in Chatham County as it is in Duplin County. When compared, the total farm-land in Duplin County is more than twice the size of farm-land in Chatham County. Additionally, Duplin produced about 70 million broilers in 2015 while Chatham produced only 20 million in the same year. Also, for every hog Chatham county produced, Duplin county produced 220 hogs.
